My paintings are inspired by people in various settings, walking in the city, at the beach or park, together in a group or alone. I am drawn to the movement and interaction of diverse shapes and colors on the sidewalks and streets. My goal is to capture the character and personalities of the individuals in a scene, as well as the surroundings as a whole. By observing the way my subjects navigate their way and relate to each other, I can capture the moment they are randomly connected, even if just briefly. I take a similar approach when painting flowers, a landscape or a cityscape; where I attempt to capture the character of a place and describe it through various color palettes and creative brushstrokes.
